The Anxiety Disorders Association of America

Jerilyn Ross was the President and CEO of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) from 1989 until her death. She always encouraged everyone to seek out and take advantage of ADAA's resources and services. Their wonderfully dedicated Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board and staff have led ADAA, which was established in 1979, towards becoming the premier organization in the field.

ADAA is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to promoting the prevention, treatment and cure of anxiety disorders, and to improving the lives of all people who are touched by these illnesses. By supporting innovative research, advocating for patients' rights and the elimination of stigma, and educating the general public with the very important message that these disorders are "real, serious and treatable," ADAA works hard to improve the quality of life of all people affected by anxiety disorders.

ADAA educates, stimulates and motivates people who are interested in a wide range of issues relating to anxiety disorders. We do this though a variety of activities, including a bi-monthly newsletter, annual conference, self-help initiatives and materials, interactive web site, professional membership directory, bookstore, and sponsored research.

For information about ADAA, and the services and resources it offers, call (800) 922-8947 or (240) 485-1001 (in metropolitan D.C. or outside U.S.) or visit its web site at www.adaa.org.
