Do You…

  • Worry excessively about what others think of you?
  • Struggle to make friends or pursue relationships?
  • Find it difficult to start or interrupt conversations?
  • Have a hard time speaking up for yourself?

This 12-week Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) group will teach you tools and strategies for overcoming social anxiety in a supportive, non-threatening environment.

You can expect to:

  • Challenge and change negative thought patterns
  • Learn mindfulness techniques
  • Develop assertiveness skills
  • Practice social skills with other adults
  • Enter and stay in uncomfortable social situations

Group therapy can be a very effective way to address social anxiety. You’ll have the opportunity to learn alongside others who struggle with similar issues in a safe and understanding environment. The group involves role playing, exposing yourself to anxious situations, and a lot of practicing skills both in the group and at home through personalized homework challenges. You will be able to live the life you want, no longer avoiding situations as you learn to ‘tolerate the discomfort’ of anxiety with new self confidence.

An assessment with a Ross Center clinician is required to ensure that this is the proper group for you.
