Stacia Casillo, PsyDDirector
Stacia Casillo, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist who provides treatment for children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, family or relationship issues, and adjusting to various life changes and transitions. She has extensive experience treating both children and adults suffering from ADHD. Dr. Casillo believes in a holistic and flexible approach to therapy incorporating CBT and psychodynamic approaches.
Jennifer Bernstein, MDMedical Director
Jennifer Bernstein, MD, is a psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of adults with mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Bernstein provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, psychopharmacology when indicated, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Jennifer has a special interest in women’s reproductive mental health across the lifespan. Dr. Bernstein trained in psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. She worked for several years in inpatient and emergency room settings. She is currently on faculty at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College, where she supervises and teaches residents.
Melissa BakerDirector of Operations
Melissa joined The Ross Center in 2013. She is a graduate of American University with a degree in International Relations. Melissa has devoted her career development to the healthcare industry and excels in many areas of managing and directing a multi-physician office. She devotes attention, care and compassion to each patient and their unique cases while taking great pride in her hands-on experience with each staff member and provider.
Gayle S. Goren, MD
Gayle S. Goren, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. She graduated from a residency in Adult Psychiatry for The Cambridge Health Alliance-Harvard Medical School in 2002 and went on to do a Public Psychiatry Fellowship at Columbia University.
Dr. Goren has worked extensively in a broad range of services in Psychiatry, including as an attending in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation Program at NYP Hospital, as a psychopharmacologist for Spanish and English-speaking outpatients at NYP, and as a psychotherapist and psychopharmacologist for graduate students at the Columbia University Mental Health Service at the 168th Street Campus.
Dr. Goren provides comprehensive diagnostic psychiatric evaluations, initial and ongoing psychopharmacologic management, and psychodynamic psychotherapy when appropriate.
Talya Kook, PsyD is a clinical psychologist who has a wide range of experience working intensively with children, adolescents, young adults and their families. Areas of treatment include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and behavioral difficulties. Dr. Kook works with clients who are struggling to manage issues such as life stressors, school problems, family conflict, emotional regulation and social functioning. Dr. Kook will utilize CBT and psychodynamic approaches in therapy. She believes in an integrative treatment approach that must be tailored to the individual. Dr. Kook has a strong background in psychological assessment, which includes psycho-educational testing, as well as diagnostic formulation and school consultation.
Bianca Lerer, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Bianca believes each client is unique and tailors treatment to that individual, incorporating an integrative approach of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and functional family therapy (FFT). She has experience working with a wide range of diagnoses, specifically and not limited to, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, behavioral disorders, and self-confidence/low self-esteem. Bianca has particular interest in young adults transitioning into adulthood. This time period is complicated by school stressors, family conflict, and various other emotional difficulties. Bianca is dedicated to working collaboratively with her clients in the hopes of modifying their behaviors to increase their daily functioning and overall happiness.
Gwilym N. H. Roddick, LCSW, is a Psychotherapist and Addiction Specialist who helps adults, adolescents, and families persevere through life’s challenges. He offers a straightforward approach to the process of psychotherapy, with empathy and helpful honesty. He uses the conceptual frameworks, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which help people to understand their problems, while teaching them many helpful skills to change them. The work is practical, collaborative, and rooted in Evidence-informed interventions and research.
Ruchi Shah, MD
Ruchi Shah, MD, is a Board Certified adult psychiatrist who diagnoses and treats a variety of mental health conditions. She can prescribe medication but also uses other treatments including talk therapy and lifestyle changes (exercise, nutrition, and addressing substance abuse) to help individuals lead their best lives. Dr. Shah employs psychotherapy principles (Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, DBT, Psychodynamic) to help clients with anxiety, insomnia, and inner struggles that lead to depression and relationship problems. Though astute in psychopharmacology, Dr. Shah believes in a holistic approach to mental health and emotional well-being. She trained in Psychiatry at University of California, San Diego, and has expertise in substance abuse and women’s mental health.
Barbra Waldfogel, LCSW
Barbra Waldfogel, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience in the treatment of adolescents and adults with histories of emotional neglect and various forms of abuse. She has worked as both a therapist and director for residential treatment programs in the child welfare system in Chicago and New York. Her private practice has focused on individual treatment for teens and adults with anxiety, depression and marital or parent-child conflict. Barbra is passionate about helping clients reach their goals knowing that they seek treatment because they or their family members are suffering; she helps to develop a positive therapeutic relationship and utilizes evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.
