Program Description:
Join our DEI training session designed for therapy professionals to explore effective communication styles and strategies for navigating dynamics in therapeutic settings. This beginner-level session begins with an introduction to the training’s purpose, mission, and an overview of communication styles.
In Part I, participants take the Harvard Implicit Association Test (IAT), explore key definitions, and engage in a case study addressing “The Unfinished Business of Slavery.” After a break, Part II involves group scenarios to apply these concepts in real-world therapy situations, followed by a reflective group discussion.
The session concludes with key takeaways, resources for continued learning, and an assessment to evaluate participants’ understanding, ensuring actionable strategies for creating inclusive therapy environments.=
