DESCRIPTION:

Join us for a continuation of our Realistic Pandemic Parenting series: “Good Enough Parenting”. Our overview discussion of “good enough parenting” was so well-received last month that we are adding more monthly webinars geared to different age groups.  This month, Abigail Romirowsky, PhD, will discuss the concept of good enough parenting as it relates to the unique characteristics and challenges of parenting teens (both in general and during this pandemic). This approach to realistic parenting will consider pressures that both parents and teens face related to social dynamics, academic expectations, and transitions within the parent-child dynamic at this age.

Expected topics to be covered include:

  • Screen time and social media
  • Readjusting to some in-person learning
  • Teen identity development
  • Self esteem
  • Sleep concerns

This will be a Q and A style discussion with some concrete concepts you can implement right away when doing “good enough parenting” with your teen. Attendees are not expected to have attended any prior webinars in the series, and February attendees will find this to be a helpful continuation of their learning. Questions can be posed ahead of time or live via chat.

As both a child psychologist and a fellow “doing her best” parent, Dr. Romirowsky values creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for these webinars. Feel free to “come as you are”, in sweats, multi-tasking or curled up with a cup of tea. Attendees can choose to participate with your camera on or off and/or to change your zoom screen name depending on your privacy concerns.

Space is limited, and this session will not be recorded. Future Q&A session with Dr. Romirowsky are planned for April 12 (Elementary Aged), May 10 (Toddlers and Preschoolers), and June 14th (Tweens) at 8:15pm. For more information, or to be notified when registration for future sessions is open, please send us an email at [email protected].
