Dr. Elizabeth Koby is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who treats patients of all ages with a wide variety of mental health challenges. Warm and empathetic, she uses her innate sense of humor to make patients comfortable and relates especially well to children. With decades of clinical experience, Dr. Koby is able to quickly gain an understanding of each patient’s situation and develop an individualized treatment plan that will be most effective. She is an advocate of psychotherapy and provides medication management when necessary. She believes that combining therapy with medication can produce long lasting results, but is responsive to individual biases regarding medication. As a parent herself, Dr. Koby is sensitive to the feelings that come up in bringing a child to treatment, and provides compassionate guidance so parents can best support their child.

In addition to working with children and adolescents, she has a special interest in weight management, wellness, and eating disorders. She gains an understanding of each person’s unique habits and develops a program of exercise and diet that doesn’t leave them feeling deprived. She focuses on body image and coping strategies that can have an impact on eating patterns and overall sense of self. Dr. Koby regularly helps women successfully overcome depression and anxiety, both through individual treatment and in group therapy.  She also has expertise in treating children with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Experience and Training:

Dr. Koby completed her psychiatric residency and child psychiatry fellowship at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center and Harvard Medical School. She completed additional training at the National Institute of Mental Health, where she conducted research on childhood OCD.
