Dr. Yael Mansoor’s central philosophy is that all human beings suffer in their own ways. Therapy with her focuses on changing your relationship to your experiences to find relief and freedom. She cultivates a warm, accepting, and compassionate environment which creates safety, trust, and deep growth. Clients benefit from her approach, leaving therapy with a kinder, more flexible relationship to themselves and their lives.
Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Mansoor works with adults (18+) in individual and couple’s therapy. She uses an integrative clinical approach, tailoring a blend of evidence based treatments to meet each person’s unique needs. She works with a wide range of presenting problems and finds that her approach is most helpful for people who feel stuck or lost, people who struggle with negative thoughts or feelings, and people searching for more meaning or purpose in their lives, careers, or relationships. She also specializes in rehabilitation neuropsychology and enjoys working with adults who have neurological conditions or injuries as well as with individuals caring for those with neurological problems, such as dementia or traumatic brain injuries.
Experience and Training:
Dr. Mansoor received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University. She also holds a postdoctoral degree in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation from MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital. She has worked with adults in a variety of settings including community clinics, VA and non-profit hospitals, as well as in the federal government. Having served in these different environments, she brings to her practice a wide range of experiences and a dedicated focus on attunement with her clients.
