A New Way to Find Support
The Ross Center is proud to announce its newest service, the Single Session Consultation (SSC). The SSC is an approach to mental health support designed to help you make meaningful steps toward addressing an issue in just one meeting. An SSC can help you navigate a specific challenge or make a time-sensitive decision with the support of one of our specially trained mental health clinicians. Unlike ongoing therapy, this one-time session is designed to help you tackle a specific problem and leave with a personalized, step-by-step action plan.
What To Expect
During a consultation, you and your clinician will:
- Define a clear, practical goal
- Explore strategies and solutions that fit your situation
- Develop an action plan tailored to your strengths and resources
When a Single Session Consultation May Help
An SSC may be right for you if you are:
- Struggling with a problem and don’t know how to handle it
- Managing stress, anxiety, or grief and want immediate guidance
- Too busy for weekly therapy but still want professional support
Backed by Research:
The Ross Center clinicians who offer SSC have completed extensive training with the founder of the Single Session Consultation approach, Dr. Jessica Schleider of Northwestern University’s Center for Scalable Health. SSCs are rooted in evidence-based practices and have been shown to help teens and adults reduce distress and feel empowered to take action.
