What We Treat

At the Ross Center in Northern Virginia, we are committed to helping patients of all ages struggling with anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), mood disorders, behavioral disorders, and a wide range of personal struggles. Our specialists have expertise in treating patients with mental health challenges such as:

Services

The mental health services we offer include:

Methods of Treatment

Drawing on research in the field and evidence-based techniques, our Virginia therapists and psychiatrists provide treatment using psychotherapy, medication prescription management or a combination of both. Psychotherapy may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in addition to mindfulness. Our psychiatrists conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments, and work closely with patients to explain medication options and select medications that are the safest and most effective for your condition.

Everyone experiences mental illness differently, and the treatment recommended for one patient may not be best for another. With a staff that includes psychologists, psychiatrists, and psychotherapists, we serve patients through a multi-disciplinary therapeutic approach. Our clinicians collaborate to ensure each patient has the proper diagnosis and assessment so that you are prescribed the treatment best suited for you.

Children’s Mental Health

In our Northern VA office, our team includes child psychiatrists and child therapists who specialize in working with children and adolescents. Early intervention can help set the stage for long-term mental health improvements.

Our youngest patients are taught positive behaviors and coping skills, while clinicians offer suggestions for helpful parenting techniques to help deal with behavioral problems, anxiety and more. Additionally, our Virginia child therapists work effectively with local schools to ensure a seamless approach to your child’s treatment. Learn more about how we work with children and teens here.

Young adults and teens also have their own set of stressors that can impact mental health. School pressure, social anxiety, depression, conflict in the family, anger management, self-esteem issues and peer difficulties can make this transitional time of life very challenging. Our caring clinicians work with young adults to help them acquire skills in communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving so that they can experience less anxiety and a higher quality of life.

We also offer a structured  Dialectical Behavior Therapy program for adolescents and teens that involves parents and is geared to individuals with serious mental health conditions.

Insurance

Although most of our clinicians do not participate in any insurance plans, we will provide you with the necessary receipts to submit to your insurance provider to assist in reimbursement of out-of-network benefits. Learn more on our FAQ page.
