Practice Philosophy:

Dr. Kristen Everett is a triple-board trained physician in pediatrics, adult, and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Everett provides caring and evidenced-based psychiatric care, with a warm and friendly character that allows her patients to feel comfortable while helping them to understand their symptoms and identify goals to reach their best functioning self. Dr. Everett considers multi-system factors in her treatment planning, acknowledging that individuals are affected by the larger systems and communities surrounding them. Dr. Everett believes in delivering excellent care that is individualized for every patient to meet their unique needs.

Areas of Expertise:

Dr. Everett provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and medication management to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of psychiatric concerns including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and disruptive behavior disorders. Dr. Everett is passionate about helping individuals and families to make well-informed decisions related to their mental health. She provides extensive psychoeducation to families regarding their diagnoses and employs a patient-centered approach to discuss whether medication treatment is appropriate for them. Dr. Everett prioritizes patient safety in all treatment planning and decision-making discussed with patients and families.

Experience and Training:

Dr. Everett received her medical degree at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. She completed her pediatrics residency training at Children’s National in Washington, DC, followed by a combined fellowship in adult and child psychiatry at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Everett has an in-depth understanding of childhood development and extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults.
