Date / Time:

Recorded Webinar - 3 Hours (Recorded 09/19/25)

Program Description:

This intermediate-level, three-hour virtual training provides an introduction to the ethical practice of teleneuropsychology (Part 1) and the bigger ethical issues in the delivery of teletherapy services (Part 2). It is possible to attend just Part 1 or Part 2, depending on your needs.

In Part 1, we discuss teleneuropsychology, including competence, standards of care, informed consent, and confidentiality, with a focus on the recent literature supporting the use of teleneuropsychology as an evidence-based practice. This training is most appropriate for psychologists and practitioners who conduct testing and neuropsychological assessments, including licensed clinical neuropsychologists and postdoctoral fellows who would like to explore provision of assessment and testing services via telehealth. We discuss how to transition from traditional in-person neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and/or psychological assessments to virtual assessments via telehealth.

In Part 2, we focus on Teletherapy. Teletherapy was a godsend to clinicians and clients alike during COVID. Since then, teletherapy has continued to thrive and be helpful to countless people who deliver or receive these services. PsyPact has opened up access and provided greater continuity of care for psychologists, while other mental health providers have also made outstanding use of these technologies in offering virtual services. While the research says that teletherapy can be highly effective, we also know there are some unique issues and challenges in delivering these services effectively and ethically. We explore some of the bigger ethical issues in the delivery of teletherapy services, including competence, standards of care, informed consent, and confidentiality. We also review the complexities related to interjurisdictional practice. Attendees are taught practical tools and knowledge to confidently navigate telehealth in their professional practice. This webinar can help psychologists to fulfill their PSYPACT requirement for telehealth-related content. Training offered in collaboration with Southeast Psych, an ARC partner.
