Caring, thoughtful, and compassionate, Dr. Bloomfield-Clagett is an adult psychiatrist who works with patients who are struggling with a wide range of issues including clinical diagnoses such as depression and anxiety, but also with the challenges of life, including transitions and relationships. He takes the time to listen to each person’s story, focusing on life circumstances, symptoms, and medical history in determining the optimal treatment plan. He collaborates with clients to work towards the life goals that are most important to them, helping to ease the inevitable bumps in the road in the process. His approach is direct and honest, so that patients clearly understand his medication recommendations, including potential side effects, and have realistic expectations for progress and growth. He recognizes the impact that mental wellness can have on relationships, families, and day-to-day living. His compassion stems from wanting patients to feel better and take control over their lives

Dr. Bloomfield-Clagett specializes in treating adults with a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and difficulties coping with life changes. He offers medication management, combined with supportive psychotherapy when appropriate. With a research background in depression and novel therapies, he has in-depth understanding of the neurobiology behind depression and is well equipped to evaluate the safest and most effective potential treatment for each patient. He works with adults of all ages, and has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ community.
Experience and Training:
Dr. Bloomfield-Clagett received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his MD from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in General Adult Psychiatry at Payne Whitney/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, and served as a Clinical Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health, Experimental Therapeutics and Pathophysiology Branch. He also completed a master’s degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins, and pursues continuing education to stay informed about the latest approaches and advances in the field of psychiatry.
