Practice Philosophy:
Dr. Chelsea Moss (previously known as Dr. Chelsea VanderWoude) is a licensed clinical psychologist who brings warmth, clarity, and compassion to her work as a psychotherapist. She creates a supportive, trusting environment where children, teens, and young adults feel truly understood and empowered while they pursue meaningful changes in their lives. Dr. Moss tailors treatment to younger patients, using age-appropriate interventions and developmental norms to create an engaging and effective environment for skill development and growth. She incorporates parents as co-pilots in treatment, leveraging their expertise and supporting them with strategies for behavior management and communication at home.
Dr. Moss offers comprehensive eating disorder treatment for patients with significant picky eating, concerning weight loss, lack of interest in food, and binging/purging behavior, and considers parents and families an essential component of recovery. She helps patients facing anxiety and OCD learn to face their fears, tolerate discomfort, and lead fulfilling lives. She also supports teens and young adults as they navigate complex relationships, stress, body image, independence, and identity, including concerns relating to culture, gender, and sexuality. Parents appreciate her ability to connect with their teens who are struggling with anger management, risky behaviors, and emotional ups and downs. Those who work with Dr. Moss often describe their time with her as meaningful and inspiring.
