Practice Philosophy:

Dr. Jessie Schulman is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides comprehensive psychological testing for children, adolescents, and adults. She approaches each assessment like a “detective,” working to uncover each client’s unique strengths, needs, and challenges. With children, she prioritizes building trust and comfort through play, humor, and conversation before beginning formal testing. She is skilled at identifying learning profiles, emotional concerns, and attention or executive functioning difficulties, while also highlighting each individual’s abilities and resilience.

Her evaluations result in clear, practical recommendations tailored to school, home, and workplace settings. She takes time to explain the testing process to children and give parents tools to support their child’s growth. Dr. Schulman collaborates closely with families, schools, and providers, offering actionable strategies that may include learning plans, classroom accommodations, or mental health supports. She is deeply committed to helping each client thrive, whether that means supporting a child through an IEP process, guiding a teen with academic challenges, or helping an adult navigate workplace demands.

Areas of Expertise:

Dr. Schulman has extensive experience with clients experiencing anxiety, mood, attention, and behavioral challenges. She specializes in assessing ADHD and executive functioning difficulties across the lifespan, and she integrates evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, into her diagnostic process. Her detailed reports provide concrete next steps, offering families and individuals a roadmap for therapies, accommodations, school supports, or workplace strategies.

Experience and Training:

Dr. Schulman earned her Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from La Salle University, and graduated summa cum laude with her BA from the University of Arizona. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She has worked in diverse clinical settings, including The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Nemours Children’s Health, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Heartwood Psychology. Through these experiences, she has developed broad expertise in assessment, child and adolescent therapy, and medical consultation—including work in emergency settings. She continues to stay current with the latest testing protocols to ensure her clients receive the most effective and individualized recommendations.
