Lasting Change with Comprehensive DBT

What Are the Components of the Program?
The Adult Comprehensive DBT Program consists of four modes:
1. Individual Psychotherapy:
Weekly therapy sessions with a DBT-trained therapist
2. Skills Group:
Weekly skills group consisting of 3-8 people who learn and master the skills in each module
3. Phone Coaching:
Brief 5-10 minute phone conversations when clients need extra support using a skill in the moment
4. Clinical Consult Team:
Individual DBT therapists and skills group leaders meet as a team to ensure treatment adherence and to provide the highest quality of care
What Will I Learn In The DBT Program?
You’ll gain important skills in the following modules:
- Mindfulness
Learn to be fully present in daily activities, increase happiness and reduce suffering
- Emotion Regulation
Learn to better understand and be in control of your feelings, be flexible in your thinking and manage difficult emotions.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
Learn how to improve, maintain, and find balance in relationships, set limits, be assertive and end destructive relationships
- Distress Tolerance
Learn to work through challenging situations, decrease rumination, accept things you do not have the power to change, and increase sense of inner peace.
What are the Entry Dates for New Participants?
New participants are welcome at the beginning of each new 8-week module. Please inquire for more information.
What is the Required Commitment?
Participants are asked to commit to an entire 24-week program.
How is the Program Delivered?
This program is offered both in-person in our Virginia office.
