Our medical director, Beth Salcedo, MD, and clinical director, Greta Hirsch, PhD, have created a ‘socially distanced’ video update on how The Ross Center is treating patients during this time of great stress, and also offer tips on how to take care of your mental health.
Good mental health practices, especially for those of us with an anxious mind, include consistent sleep habits, exercise, limiting access to news, and incorporating humor into your daily life. Most important can be acts of kindness, which impact both the giver and receiver with a greater sense of well being.
We have clinicians available to see new patients via video conference if you are in need of help, and can also provide referrals to other professionals if we can’t accommodate your needs. Dr. Salcedo also references the Anxiety and Depression Association of America Find a Therapist website if you are looking for a therapist outside our service areas (Washington DC, northern Virginia, and New York).
