Program Description:

Parenting a child with ADHD comes with unique challenges, especially when it comes to communication and managing difficult behaviors. If your child struggles to listen, follow directions, or stay engaged in conversations, you’re not alone—and this webinar is here to help.

In this second session of our Parenting a Child with ADHD webinar series, we’ll build on concepts from our first session and discuss practical strategies to improve communication, strengthen your relationship, and support your child’s growth. You’ll learn how to use Positive Attending, Giving Effective Instructions, and Active Ignoring—proven techniques that help manage behaviors, reduce frustration and encourage cooperation.

For many kids and teens with ADHD, listening can be difficult. This often leads to frequent negative feedback from teachers and parents. This session will show you how to reinforce positive behaviors while ignoring negative ones, and we’ll teach you the most effective ways to help your child follow directions and build independence.

Who is this Webinar For?

This free webinar is designed for parents of children who:

  • Get easily distracted and struggle to stay focused when spoken to
  • Frequently talk over others or respond without fully listening
  • Have difficulty following directions or remembering instructions
  • Interrupt conversations or speak without thinking
  • Have a hard time waiting their turn or staying patient

Led by experienced Ross Center child therapists, this webinar will provide practical tools to make communication easier and more effective for both you and your child

What You’ll Learn:

During the webinar and Q&A session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Effectively use the power of your own attention to increase positive behaviors and decrease unhelpful behavior
  • Develop strategies to help your child listen and follow directions more effectively
  • Provide feedback and support that helps your child manage their emotions
  • Foster greater independence and resilience in your child
  •

We know that general parenting advice doesn’t always work for kids with ADHD. These parenting sessions have been developed to provide you with actionable strategies so your child can thrive, and you can feel more confident in your parenting.

Cost: FREE

Date: Webinar Recorded on April 17, 2025. 1 Hour.
