Otema Adade, M.D., M.A., is a compassionate, thoughtful, and nurturing psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with mood, anxiety, and behavioral disorders, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She is double-board certified in child & adolescent and adult psychiatry.
Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Adade provides extensive psycho-education to families and promotes patient-centered care. She uses a family-systems approach and actively involves parents and youth in decision making. Dr. Adade also collaborates closely with community partners, such as psychotherapists, pediatricians, and educators, in treatment planning. She also has a background in clinical psychology; and specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and early childhood interventions. She uses her expertise to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and supportive therapy.
Experience and Training:
Dr. Adade received her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine and Masters in Clinical Psychology at the Duke University Graduate School. Dr. Adade served as a Chief Resident at the Brown University Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program. She was the recipient of an American Medical Association Foundation Physicians of Tomorrow Award.
