Enrico Suardi, M.D., M.Sc,. is an insightful, empathetic psychiatrist, uniquely qualified to provide top quality services to adults and children. Triple-board certified in child psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry, Dr. Suardi brings a vast skill-set in offering diagnosis and psychopharmacological treatment to all ages He involves families in treatment for children and adolescents, ensuring that parents understand how best to support their children .
Areas of Expertise:
As a forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Suardi is able to provide expert consultation, testimony and evaluation in civil, criminal and family legal proceedings, and is one of very few child psychiatrists in the region who specializes in forensics. Forensic consultation is available remotely for cases around the world. He draws on his broad experience in various inpatient units, therapeutic group homes, residential treatment centers, and juvenile detention centers in providing state-of-the-art care. He serves as the Director of Forensic Services for our team at The Ross Center.
Experience and Training:
Dr. Suardi is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University and also teaches and supervises residents from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and George Washington University. He also serves as a forensic psychiatrist in the Washington D.C. Department of Behavioral Health and has previously served as a child psychiatrist at the U.S. State Department, Office of Medical Services and at Adventist Behavioral Health. He coordinates seminars on family law, child maltreatment, divorce and custody. Dr. Suardi obtained his M.D. in public health and preventive medicine at the University of Milan, Italy, and received an M.Sc. in public health and policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is regularly recognized by Northern Virginia magazine as a top doctor in the region, and was recently elected to become the President of the Washington Psychiatric Society.
