Program Description
Have you ever wondered how you can prepare yourself to engage in meaningful, culturally-sensitive, and therapeutic conversations about culturally stressful experiences with BIPOC clients? If so, this intermediate level series of workshops is for you!
Specifically, attendees will first be asked to explore their personal commitment to promoting culturally responsive care within their practice. And, with this clarified commitment, attendees will be introduced to options for enhancing their culturally responsive care with an in-depth orientation to the Racial, Ethnic, And Cultural Healing model.
Led by Dr. Ryan DeLapp, the creator of the REACH program, this series of workshops teaches attendees how to:
- Evaluate the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral impacts of cultural stress and racism
- Integrate experiences of cultural stress into existing case conceptualizations
- Collaborate with patients to formulate clear treatment goals
- Identify evidence-based interventions that promote empowerment, self-acceptance, and emotional healing from past, current, and/or anticipated cultural stressors.
Participants can register for the entire series, a single webinar, or multiple webinars. Each session is a stand-alone workshop; it is not necessary to sign up for them in order. All webinars will be recorded, so if the listed dates are not convenient, you will be sent a copy of the webinar to watch at your leisure for Home Study credit.
Learn more about the program in this video conversation below between Dr. DeLapp and Dr. Stacy Coyle, Ross Center Director of Professional Development.
