What We Treat

Our New York City specialists have expertise in treating patients with a wide range of mental health challenges:

Services

The mental health services we offer include:

Methods of Treatment

In our New York office, most clinicians have expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), gold standard treatments for anxiety, depression, and a host of mental illnesses. These highly effective and efficient therapies allow patients to make emotional progress by identifying, challenging, and changing thought patterns and behaviors and learning to engage in healthy coping behaviors. Therapists are able to provide treatment outside the office as well, accompanying patients to locations where they can practice their new skills and behaviors in real-life situations.

Ross Center psychiatrists prescribe medication when appropriate, seeking out the safest, most effective medications with the fewest side effects. We take the time to educate you on your medication options, whether used alone or in combination with psychotherapy.

We also offer addiction treatment for a variety of addictive behaviors, including alcohol abuse, drug abuse, compulsive gambling, sexual compulsiveness, vaping. Our program includes individual therapy with an addiction specialist, medication management with a psychiatrist trained in addiction medicine, group therapy and family support.

Children’s Mental Health

In New York we have a team of child psychiatrists and psychotherapists who specialize in working with children, offering age-appropriate treatment that leads to improvements in your child’s behavior and well-being. Parents are given tools so they can reinforce positive behaviors, learning the parenting techniques to best support their child. Children develop the skills to manage their own anxious thoughts and challenging behaviors, leading to lasting change and long-term mental health.

For teens and young adults, our empathetic clinicians offer supportive services for social anxiety, self-esteem issues, anger management, peer difficulties, and school problems. We help young adults with life transitions that often include school stressors, family conflict, and other emotional difficulties. Young people acquire skills in conflict resolution, communication and problem solving that lead to reduced anxiety and depression and improved relationships.

Insurance

Although most of our clinicians do not participate in any insurance plans, we will provide you with the necessary receipts to submit to your insurance provider to assist in reimbursement of out-of-network benefits. Contact our office directly for more information.
